Mumbai Vada Pav Recipe With Tomato Sauce

All of we know Vada Pav is a famous snack across Maharashtra. You will easily found this snack all over India. I usually enjoyed Vada Pav while travelling in Train or Bus. Sometime I make it at home in the evening when I miss the taste of it. Let’s start the recipe…:-)

● Ingredients:

* For Batata Vada:

• 3 Potatoes (Boiled)

• 3-4 Green Chillies (Finely Chopped)

• 1 tsp Mustard Seeds

• Few Coriander Leaves

• Cooking Oil As Needed

• Salt To Taste

• 1 tsp Turmeric Powder

• 6-7 Pav’s

• 2 tsp Lemon Juice

• A Pinch Of Cooking Soda

• 5 tbsp Gram Flour

• 1tsp Rice Flour

• Some Water

• Few Curry Leaves

• 2 tsp Red Chilli Powder

• Tomato Sauce

● For Green Chutney:

• 3-4 Garlic Cloves

• Small Piece Of Ginger

• 1/2 Cup Of Coriander & Mint Leaves

• Lemon Juice 1 tsp

● Directions:

• Grind The Ingredients Of Green Chutney With Salt As Needed & Keep Aside

• Pressure Cook Potatoes. Peel The Skin & Mash it

• Make Ginger-Garlic Paste. Finely Chop Green Chillies, Coriander Leaves

• Add Ginger-Garlic Paste, Green Chillies, Coriander Leaves To Mashed Potatoes. Now Add Lemon Juice, Turmeric Powder, Salt To Taste & Mix It Well

• Heat Some Oil In a Pan. Add Mustard Seeds, Curry Leaves, Cumin Seeds. Add Potato Mixture And Fry It For Few Minutes To Get Together.

• Now Let It Cool & Then Make Flat Balls Of This Mixture & Keep Aside

• Take a Vok Or Vessel. Add Green Flour With Water & Form A Paste. Add Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Cooking Soda & Salt To This Paste. Ensure The Paste Is Thick Not Thin.

• Heat Oil In A Big Pan For Frying. Test The Heating Point Of Oil By Putting a Pinch Of Batter. If The Batter Rises Up Immediately, Oil is Ready For Frying.

• Dip Potato Balls in Gram Flour Batter. Fry The Vada In Low Flame. Fry Until It Become Golden Brown Crisp. Drain Potato Vadas On Kitchen Tissue Or Paper Towel To Remove Excess Oil.

• Fry The Rest Of Vadas & Serve On a Platter With Fried Green Chilli. Take Pav Slice Them Into Halves & Rub Some Green Chutney With Tomato Sos On It. Place Hot Vada In Between This Pav & Serve With Tomato Sauce. Enjoy This Tasty Vada Pav With Hot Cup Of Tea.
